Kafue Horse Safaris is owned by Steven & Lucy Rufus and situated on the borders of Kafue National Park in Zambia. This is the largest and oldest reserve in the country and covers an area of some 22,400 sq kms in a country widely known as “The Real Africa”. Large herds of elephant, zebra, wildebeest and buffalo herds in excess of 1,000 head frequently roam across the wide open plains. There are also eleven species of carnivores including impressive packs of wild dog, the most ruthless hunter in the bush and a rare sight in other parts of Africa. The terrain is varied; towering teak forests punctuate the endless open plains that sway with majestic Lala palms. The great lake Itezhi-tezhi is so vast it will make you feel you are standing on the edge of the seas or even a new world!
